A Father's Troubles Solved
Sarah Norris, Resource & Development Director of The Wesley Community Centers of Savannah, Inc., shares a story about "Mr. G." who went to The Wesley Community Center of Savannah seeking child care for his one year old twins, Al and Jerry. His wife had abruptly abandoned the family in October of 2005. He quickly found himself on his own, and in desperate need of help.

"Departure:" Remembering a Missionary Father
My father dedicated his whole life to mission. He grew up in Brazil as a missionary kid and later served for almost 40 years as a missionary in the interior of Brazil. After retiring my father went back to Brazil to visit with the friends, churches and to see again the places where he had worked. About halfway through his visits, he was in a serious car accident.

My Father's Gift: Celebrating Father's Day 2005

I often tell people that one of my DNA markers is the cross and flame because The United Methodist Church is so much a part of who I am. And I got that DNA from my father. My father was raised in the Methodist Episcopal Church with a strong influence from the Evangelical United Brethren.
